The University sponsors a few different types of accounts, including tax-favored accounts, to help cover eligible expenses and compliment insurance coverage. Some options require enrolling in a particular insurance plan, where others are available even if you waive other insurance coverage.
Health Savings Account (HSA)
A Health Savings Account (HSA) is a tax-favored account available to Healthy Savings Plan enrollees for eligible health care expenses. The University contributes to your HSA based on your enrollment, and you can also make tax-free contributions up to IRS limits.
Flexible Spending Account (FSA)
A Flexible Spending Account (FSA) is a tax-favored account that lets you use pre-tax dollars for eligible expenses. There are two types: a Health Care FSA for out-of-pocket medical, dental and vision costs, and a Dependent Care FSA for child or dependent day care, helping reduce your overall out-of-pocket spending.
Health Payment Account (HPA)
A Health Payment Account (HPA) establishes a revolving line of credit that helps pay for eligible medical, pharmacy, dental and mental health expenses. You can repay the account through customizable payroll deductions with no interest or fees.
