If you enrolled in the Healthy Savings Plan for your medical insurance, you may be eligible for a Health Payment Account (HPA), a revolving line of credit designed to help manage out-of-pocket health care costs. The University has partnered with Paytient, the nation¡¯s largest provider of HPAs, to offer this benefit. With a Paytient HPA, you can access up to $2,000 to cover medical, pharmacy, dental, and mental health expenses (subject to approval) Repayment is flexible and customizable through convenient payroll deductions, making it easier to manage your health care expenses.

To be eligible for the health payment account: ?
- You must be a current benefit-eligible employee.
- You must be covered by the University's high-deductible health plan (Healthy Savings Plan).
- Paytient will confirm eligibility through the registration process.?
*Subject to approval. The Paytient card works with providers in approved merchant categories, including select online merchants. Providers self-select their categories, which may not be categorized as expected. These categories vary by Sponsor. Check approved categories on my.paytient.com or the Paytient app. Some purchases must be made at specific points of sale, like pharmacy check-outs. Note: The card cannot be used for health insurance premiums.
- If you are enrolled in the Healthy Savings Plan, you will receive a welcome email from Paytient inviting you to create an account. You can also visit the to sign up for your health payment account.
- Paytient is required to confirm that you are able to afford your monthly minimum payments. They do this by comparing your income to your expenses during your application. This is not a credit check and will not affect your credit.
- Once your account is created, you will receive a Paytient Visa? Card that can be used to pay for up to $2,000 of out-of-pocket health care expenses.
The Paytient Visa? Credit Card is issued by Commerce Bank, Member FDIC.
- Use your Paytient Visa? Card to pay for current or previous expenses related to medical, pharmacy, dental and mental health for you or your dependents.
- After using your Paytient Visa? Card, you will select a repayment plan that you can pay back without interest or fees through a payroll deduction from your University paycheck.
