Caregiver leave, which is available upon hiring, provides two weeks of paid time off within a rolling 12-month period to care for a family member with a serious health condition as defined by HR-407 Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA). It is available for benefit-eligible administrative, service and support employees, as well as certain non-regular academic employees as approved by the chancellor and president.

Employees may take caregiver leave for more than one qualifying event within a rolling 12-month period. Employees also may use their annual PTO allocation if they would like to take additional time off.
