Collaborations

Program Description

Intercampus Course Sharing (Course Sharing) enables students to take a course from another UM university using their regular home campus registration website and process. From a student perspective, a course shared course looks like any other course in their student information system (e.g., myZou, Pathway, Joe’SS, MyView). Students are billed their normal tuition rate and financial aid is not affected.

Program Purpose

Course Sharing is designed to facilitate collaborations between UM universities, generally at the program and department level. Specifically, Course Sharing is designed for collaborations that address a well-defined curricular need, as determined by relevant department chairs. For example, Course Sharing may be used to increase enrollment in one university’s existing course while saving another university course development costs.

Program Description

Cross Campus Enrollment (Cross Enrollment) enables undergraduate students to concurrently enroll at two or more UM universities. Cross enrolling at another UM university is easier than enrolling at a non-UM university: students don’t have to formally apply to the other UM university, don’t have to pay an application fee, and transcripts automatically transfer back to their home university after grades are posted. Students can initiate this process from within their normal student information system (e.g., myZou, Pathway, Joe’SS, MyView). Students are billed by the institution offering the course and at the tuition and fee rate for that institution. Students are responsible for meeting with Financial Aid to ensure any aid is correctly applied. Additionally, students are highly encouraged to meet with their academic advisor to ensure that courses will apply toward desired credentials as expected.

Program Purpose

Cross Enrollment provides students with access to the broader catalog of course offerings at each UM university. Unlike Intercampus Course Sharing, Cross Enrollment is not limited to courses that have been specifically identified as meeting a defined curricular need. Students are advised to talk with their academic advisor and financial aid advisor prior to using Cross Enrollment to ensure credits apply to their degree program and to ensure financial aid is applied, as intended.

Program Description

The Visiting Graduate Student Program (VGSP) enables graduate students to concurrently enroll at two or more UM universities. This program may be helpful for graduate students interested in taking a course on a particular subject for which there is no comparable expertise at their home institution or may be a way to address a student or course scheduling issue. The student does not have to formally apply to the other UM university and does not have to pay an application fee. Students will be billed by the institution offering the course at the tuition and fee rate for that institution.

Program Purpose

VGSP provides students with access to the broader catalog of course offerings at each UM university. Students are advised to talk with their academic advisor and financial advisor prior to utilizing VGSP to ensure credits apply to their degree program and to ensure financial aid is applied, as intended.
